Candace Fugate, MD, FAAP

The daughter of two teachers, Dr. Candace Fugate has always been interested in working with children. She earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Biology from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky, and also completed a secondary education program before becoming a college instructor. Following a few years as a college instructor, Dr. Fugate attended medical school at the University of Louisville and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996. She completed both her internship and pediatric residency at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

A Kentucky native, Dr. Fugate and her husband are Western Kentucky University Basketball fans. When they're not cheering on the WKU Hilltopers, they enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with their dogs.

Dr. Fugate was named one of Washingtonian Magazine's Top Doctors 2017, NoVA Magazine Top Doctors  2022.
