Meet TPG

Appointments

To help provide timely service to our patients, we require that each child who needs to be seen, has a scheduled appointment time, prior to arrival. If you arrive at our office more than 15 minutes late, we will need to help you reschedule your child's appointment. When possible, we try to make it the same day, which might mean seeing another provider.

What to Bring to Each Appointment

  • Current insurance card and ID
  • List of questions you have for your provider
  • Your child's eyeglasses or contacts (if worn)
  • Asthma/ ADHD medications
  • List of current medications (prescription, over the counter (OTC), vitamins and supplements)
  • Completed Annual Medical History Update Form (Check-ups only)

Your Child's First Appointment

We ask you arrive to your first appointment at least 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. We will want to get a complete medical history for your child and therefore require the child's parent or legal guardian to come to the first appointment. Printing and filling in the New Patient Forms before arriving will help to make your first visit with us smooth and efficient. Please also note the things above, that should be brought to each visit.

Scheduled Appointments

To keep your child healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular Well Child Visits. We recommend that you call your child's home office 3 - 5 weeks in advance, so you may select a date and time that works best for you, as well as choosing the provider you would like your child to see.

Appointments such as physicals, well child checks, medication checks, etc. can be made either by calling your child's home office, or submitting an appointment request through your child's patient portal. Please remember that each child who needs to be seen must have an appointment.

Same Day Sick Visits

For sick or acute visits, please call your child's home office the day that your child needs care. Each of our offices has a number of appointment times reserved for accommodating same day sick visits.

Please call our office before coming, so that we can minimize the time that you will spend waiting. If you would like us to see more than one child, please let us know that when you call, so that we can schedule them. Without an appointment, we might not be able to see a sick sibling at the same time, and we may need to ask you to sit in our waiting area or return later in the day.

Saturday Same Day Sick Visits

Our Manchester Lakes Office is open on Saturday mornings, for same day sick appointments. These are for established patients for ANY of our offices, who are at least 4 months of age. Please call (703) 971-6900 between 8:30 and 11 AM on the day your child needs care.

Minor Emergencies

If you have a minor emergency during regular office hours, please call your child's home office. The triage nurses will be happy to help you discern if the problem can be assessed and treated by our providers, or if they need to refer you to the closest urgent care or emergency room.

No Appointment Needed, Walk In READY CARE

READY CARE is The Pediatric Group's "urgent care clinic within a clinic". These clinics require NO appointments, are for patients who have previously been seen at ANY of The Pediatric Group offices, are older than 4 months, and need urgent care for simple childhood illnesses or injuries. Ready Care days and hours vary by office.
